Project 2: Construction Solutions
(Individual) In conjunction with the studio project, I had to compile an A3 report detailing the architectural construction systems used in my design.
The report includes the following:

An introduction to the studio project

Analysis of 4 case studies for different construction systems

Two alternative facade designs for the building

Two sectional perspectives that show the construction detail and experiential qualities of the upper and lower floors.
with appropriate references.
A3 Report
For the studio project, I attempted to find and implement construction systems that would act as appropriate design responses to the site. It was a fun attempt.
Reflection and Learning Outcome
MLO 3
MLO 3 - Distinguish the design and the construction of various form of long span and tall building structures.
I learned much about verious long-span structures sch as lattice shells, geodesic domes, and parabolic frames, but ultimately decided that a curved metal roof supported by trusses would be ideal. I know now that a lattice shell structure could have been moreappropriate is manipulated into a different shape.

I feel that I was able to practice implementation of practical construction systems in this project, although construction detailing in itself was lacking as not conveyed well through my use of 3D modelling software.
