Project 1: Industrialized Building System (IBS)
(Group) We were to research on various Industrialized Building Systems, with a focus on Steel IBS. Then, we had to propose an apartment building using said system, provide construction drawings, and calculate its IBS score to ensure it is up to code. I contributed only to the research, compilation of the report, and calculations. The heavy lifting such as most of the overall planning, 3D modelling and preparation of drawings must be credited to the groupmates Wen Hua, Adler and Abdu.

The following report contains our collective understanding of IBS systems, findings from the case study, and the proposal of a 5-storey apartment building that would be constructed using steel IBS,
Reflection and Learning Outcome
MLO 1
MLO 1 - Relate the advanced construction technology of basement, modular construction, steel construction and building façade and envelope systems and their importance in design..
The structures were considered with economic and pracalitity in mind. Compnent dimensions were specified as per IBS standards.
MLO 2
MLO 2 - Calculate the Industrialised Building System (IBS) scoring system for buildings.
This exercise was a good practice for calculating IBS Score. I am not entirely sure it is correct, though.

IBS is a very helpful construction innovation that should be better utilized in modern construction, as it provides an economical and efficient design solution.
