Project 1(Major): Movie Poster
(Ind) We were to create a movie poster that could either

be based on existing media (movies, music videos, books, etc.)

developed from own creativity
It had to include both man-made as well as natural elements along with at least one human element.
For my rendition, I chose to create a movie poster based on the SIAMÉS "Summer Nights" official animated music video (below).
Idea Board
The idea board I gathered, showing the aesthetic I was going for and part of the color scheme I would use.

The initial ideas I had for composition. I wasn't quite satisfied with either.
Final Product
I chose to set the characters before the tunnel which lead to the abandoned factory in the music video. The four characters are put in the foreground, while the tunnel rests in the background. Referencing the official storyboards of the music video, I applied perspective into the lines of the road and tunnel.
While I had confidence in my sketching skills, my coloring skills are still amateur at best. Because of this, the colors fell flat and did not properly convey the aesthetic nor the underlying sketch.

I was able to work on composition, but did not satisfactorily communicated the intended feeling due to a lack of skill in coloring.

While trying to convey the atmosphere of the initial moments of the music video, I focused on the character's body language and the color tones that could reflect a slightly heavy but still playful setting.
